Supervision Services - Psychology & Eating Disorders | Dr. Conason

Join Dr. Conason’s Bi-Monthly Case Consultation Group

This group of therapists meets virtually every other week and focuses on binge eating disorder, disordered eating, and bariatric surgery. Hours are applicable to CEDS certification. This is a great space to get input on difficult cases, hear feedback from an experienced eating disorder therapist, and see how other therapists are practicing in these areas. The goal of the group is for participants to develop increased competency and expertise in working with binge eating disorder, disordered eating, and bariatric surgery.

The group is structured in cycles of five sessions, meaning you must commit to all five sessions to participate. During these cycles, each member of the group presents a case for one session and then gets feedback from Dr. Conason and the other participants. If you are looking for an ongoing supervision group, you are welcome to stay in the group for as many 5-session cycles as you like!

1:1 Case Consultation

Managing a case involving disordered eating, binge eating disorder, body image concerns, and/or bariatric surgery can be challenging, especially if you don’t have much experience in these areas or are new to working from a weight-inclusive paradigm. Support and guidance from an experienced clinician can be an essential part of providing your clients with the best care possible. Unfortunately, there are not many resources for providers who wish to treat clients struggling with these issues with a HAES-aligned weight-inclusive approach.

If you are managing a case in this area, Dr. Conason can help you:

Build competence in treating binge eating disorder using evidence-based weight-inclusive perspectives.

Develop expertise in treating clients who are considering bariatric surgery or who have undergone bariatric surgery from a weight-inclusive framework that integrates principles of body autonomy, harm-reduction, and trauma informed care.

Understand the psychological impact of bariatric surgery.

Develop a HAES-aligned/mindful eating approach integrating the types of therapy that will best assist your client.

Strengthen the therapeutic alliance with your client.

To receive case consultation from Dr. Conason, you must be a licensed mental health professional OR a pre-licensed professional practicing under the license of a supervisor.
